For years, the web browser has been the main doorway to the internet: search, shopping, news, email, forums, random 2am searches about whether a toaster can run Linux. You know, normal human behavior.
But now AI assistants are starting to sit in front of everything. Instead of opening ten tabs, people ask one assistant to summarise, compare, book, draft, organise, or explain. That’s either incredibly convenient or a spectacular disaster waiting to happen, depending on how much you trust the digital gremlin doing the thinking.
The interesting bit is this: if AI becomes the main interface, websites, apps, and even search engines may matter less to everyday users. We might stop “browsing” and start “delegating.”
So here’s the big question: do you think personal AI assistants will eventually replace the browser as our main way of using the internet?
